Eng. Dulana Gajaba Kaluarachchi 

I Rathnayaka Kaluarachchige Dulana Gajaba Kaluarachchi studied at Royal College, Colombo 7.  My repertoires ranged to a greater extent both in academic and extracurricular activities. I showed  colours when I was schooling through tremendous performance in studies as well as in sports and other extracurricular activities. I was awarded all island first place in badminton in consecutive years. I achieved national colors as well as Royal college colors. I was also granted many achievements in long jump, high jump and athletics along with badminton. I also  secured many badminton championships in all island and inter school competitions. I reached the  peak of success both in sports and academic activities during my school time. I was first in the  inter school quiz competition in 2007 and 2008. When I was schooling I manifested my skills  in aesthetic streams such as singing, art and I was awarded with many achievements in the stream  of Mathematics by Royal College. I was also placed first in dhamma school singing competitions along with distinctions for dhamma school final examination. 

My skills did not restrict to school age. I casted limelight on my dexterity and proficiency by excelling in sports and in studies at undergraduate level. I emerged champion in inter university badminton tournaments organized by the university of Moratuwa in the consecutive years of 2014, 2015 and 2016. I emerged first in inter university badminton tournaments held in India in 2013  and 2014. Also, I was able to secure a single and double event badminton championship in the staff category representing University of Sri Jayewardenepura at the International badminton tournaments. I received National colors for badminton and currently in national rankings and national badminton player. I received the Best player award for the International University staff  badminton tournament for consecutive years. Currently I am the Secretary in the Western Province Badminton Association. 

While triumphing in sports I was able to place first among the candidates of all Sri Lankan Universities, securing “Emerging Civil Engineer'' award. I also obtained the best GPA in the department of civil engineering placing the best results in the VC list and Dean's list in all four years. I have successfully completed a BSc (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering with a First Class. 

I have documented patents for my innovations and inventions in several fields of studies including Engineering, Medicine, Sports and Music. I am currently reading for; PhD in Engineering, PhD in Complementary Medicine and PhD in Education, Supervision and planning. I launched two books “Meka tikak Kiyawanna” (Sinhala poetry) and “Watermology - volume 01”, relates to Engineering Hydraulics and Hydrology. 

Moreover, I further widened my cognitive scopes by being a lecturer at the department of Civil Engineering University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Moreover, I have published many publications related to the several fields published in International and national level journals and conferences. I am a member of International Water Association, International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research. I am a student member of Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) and Institute of Civil Engineers, UK.  

I consider myself an artist with a sensitive heart. I have also portrayed my aesthetic skills by being  both the composer and the singer of the songs “Sithivili Dahasak , Atha Ahase and Seethalen Piree”. I am also a very proficient dancer with expertise in dancing skills as I perform for the traditional drama known as “Kolam Maduwa”. I am a Taish?goto / Nagoya harp /Japan Mandolin player. I won several awards for poetry for my narrations. 

This award is one of the most eminent recognitions I earned in my life and an eternally memorable one. I would like to thankfully glorify Asia Awards powered by Rula Awards  for the exemplary service they render to the world through the excellent/ magnificent award  ceremony organized with a great commitment. This award has inspired me to reach my  ultimate heights among the best of the best.
