MEXICO City — A Mexican navy helicopter on a mission fighting forest fires crashed Tuesday, producing non-daily life threatening accidents to the five marines on board, Mexico’s navy claimed.
The accident transpired shortly just after the Russian-built Mi-17 helcicopter took off from a landing strip in the Pacific coastline metropolis of Mazatlan.
The navy said the wounded marines were being treated at a navy medical center.
Online video posted on social media showed the craft hovering and then shedding security, spinning on its axis and plunging into a industry.
